A lot has happened since I started this little blog two years ago. iSlaytheDragon went from me posting random and sporadic posts about gaming, to a strong and at least somewhat relevant board game review and discussion site. This is especially thanks to the hard work of one @Farmerlenny, my real-life friend and nemesis Jon. With his help, the Dragon turned from a minor hobby to something that people actually read (as far as I can tell).

As iSlaytheDragon has continued growing and our own life circumstances have changed, we realized that we needed to make some changes in order to be able to continue running this blog. Jobs have changed, Jon had a kid, and we just don’t have quite the same time and schedule as we did before. As a result, it is my sad duty to announce that we will no longer be doing Nemesis reviews – that is, we won’t automatically have both of our opinions on a single game. We just don’t have the same opportunities to play the same games together often enough to keep up a reasonable review schedule. We realize that this takes away from part of the uniqueness of our blog, but we hope to make up for it in other ways.

See, that wasn’t so bad. I wanted to get the bad stuff over with first, so now we can look ahead to the new and exciting things that are coming. First of all, we are going to expand our variety of posts. In addition to our regular reviews and occasional opinions and/or strategy guides, we’re going to start up a weekly “news” post to keep you updated with the happenings in the board game world. This will include new game announcements, an overview of Kickstarter projects, and much much more. Jon, aka @Farmerlenny, will be heading up the weekly news posts every Monday – and trust me, this guy somehow manages to find out stuff that’s going on. I don’t know how he does it, but he always knows.

We’re also expanding in other ways, and this is where you come in.

iSlaytheDragon is looking to recruit more writers!

Yes, that’s right. We’d like to build a bigger team so that we can offer more frequent reviews, discussions, and other happenings in the boardgaming world.

So maybe you’ve been thinking about starting your own blog. Maybe you already have one but it’s been tough going solo. Or maybe you’re looking to expand your own opportunities.  If you love board games and enjoy writing about them, consider joining our team.

We have a number of positions we’d like to fill – check ’em out on this page.  All you need to do to apply is to send a sample of your writing, in addition to a letter explaining why you’d like to be on the team and/or why you should be on the team.  We will also be accepting article submissions and guest posts.

Let me be clear: these are not paid positions.  We don’t actually have any money.  We can promise a little exposure, some writing experience, and being part of a great team that likes to have fun.  Possibly occasional review copies.  But little else, I’m afraid.

The world of tabletop gaming is a fast growing one, and iSlaytheDragon is poised to support that growth with clear, honest reviews, up-to-date news, and community involvement.  We believe you’re passionate about that as well, and we’d love to have you on the team.

Again, to apply, visit this page for more information on each position.

Futurewolfie loves epic games, space, and epic games set in space. You'll find him rolling fistfuls of dice, reveling in thematic goodness, and giving Farmerlenny a hard time for liking boring stuff.
