Ticket to Ride: Europe Now Available for iPhone
I’m an Android man myself, but Days of Wonder announced last week that Ticket to Ride: Europe—my favorite of the Ticket to Ride maps I’ve played—is available for iPhone. If it’s as good as their implementation of the USA map, it’s almost reason in itself to get an iPhone. Or to lobby for an Android counterpart…

7 Wonders: Cities Rules Posted
7 Wonders took the board gaming world by storm (a strategy game for seven players in under an hour?!), and the new expansion, Cities, is coming soon. Originally slated for release in July, the expansion will be released in the United States in August. Until then, you can drool over the rules. This one really intrigues me and looks like it adds more than Leaders (though I enjoy Leaders quite a bit).

Seasons Debuts on Board Game Arena
Board Game Arena, my favorite place to play board games online, added a new game to its line up last week: Seasons, a new title from Asmodee that debuts at GenCon. You can find more information about the game here or try it yourself at BoardGameArena.com.

New Dice Hate Me Games Kickstarter Campaign Trucking Soon to an Internet Near You
Dice Hate Me Games has announced that their next Kickstarter campaign, for the game The Great Heartland Hauling Co., will go live tomorrow night at 11:59 Eastern. This was originally slated to be released through Cambridge Games Factory, but they’ve had other things on their mind lately (). The DHMG treatment looks fantastic.

Kickstarter Campaigns of Note

  • Among the Stars: Not long remains in this IndieGoGo project—just hours, in fact. But it’s already funded, and you can get some sweet swag by adopting early. $55
  • Great Fire of London: This one achieved funding today and is on its way to some game upgrades. Looks interesting, albeit expensive. $60
  • Stack It!: This is a new dexterity game from Tasty Minstrel Games that involves stacking strangely shaped wooden objects on top of one another. $25 gets you one copy; $50 gets you three.

Completely Unrelated Awesomeness of the Week
The Olympics opening ceremonies were on Friday night, and depending on your sensibilities, they were either brilliant or incredibly strange. (I found myself at either end of the spectrum at various points.) In any case, as the Irish children sang “Danny Boy,” my mind couldn’t help but go to this classic rendition of the melancholy song. And if you want a version that’s truly melancholy, here’s one that fits better with what the song is actually saying (though it is in no way Irish).

I'll try anything once, but my favorite games are generally middleweight Euros.
