Isn’t it nice when you receive that game you Kickstarted? I got Tiny Epic Galaxies: Beyond the Black this weekend and the solo game has been a lot of fun so far.
Betrayal at Baldur’s Gate
According to Geek & Sundry, D&D and Betrayal at House on the Hill will be mashed up into Betrayal at Baldur’s Gate. “Given the title, this means it takes place in one of the most famous locations of the Forgotten Realms. … Betrayal at Baldur’s Gate is keeping the essential ideas and themes from the original, but adding even deadlier threats to the mix.”
Asmodee Reducing Distributors
Asmodee will be going strictly with Alliance Game Distributors starting this August, according to W. Eric Martin’s boardgamegeek.com blog. A multi-year agreement was signed with ANA “that’s ‘aimed at broadly increasing support for U.S. hobby games retailers.’”
This September expect AEG’s Custom Heroes, “a card-crafting based trick taking game, where you can use clear cards (like Mystic Vale) to change the values and effects of your cards as you play them.”
On June 21st, Racing Season, the first expansion to Automobiles will hit retail shelves. According to the AEG website, “Racing Season adds two new card types, Managers and Drivers, which you can use to customize your racing team over the course of a Season, a new game format. Not only those, but many new effects for cubes, and three all-new tracks.”
Asmodee Digital to Bring Pathfinder to Steam
According to comicbuzz.com, Asmodee Digital is partnering with Obsidian Entertainment to bring Pathfinder Adventures to Steam on June 15th. “Under the deal, Asmodee Digital will publish the award-winning card-based RPG on Steam worldwide, plus the previously-released mobile game on the App Store and Google Play.”
Interesting Board Game History
From a book about board game history comes some lesser-known anecdotes, including this gem from the dailymail.com article: “Worst of all was the suicide square which eliminated you from the game and featured a ‘chilling illustration of a man dangling from a noose tied to a tree branch.’”
