With summer right around the corner, it’s time to check up on those 10×10 challenges!

Winter Is Coming to the Tabletop
The upcoming The Song of Ice & Fire Tabletop Miniature Game was previewed on Geek & Sundry. “There’s lots for miniature wargamers to be excited about with this game: alternating activations, simplified movement and resolving dice rolls (no comparing of stats on charts), and organized play from day one.”

Runewars Unit Expansions
Two Unit Expansions for Runewars, Carrion Lancers and Reanimates, were previewed on the Fantasy Flight Games website. “With the potential to field twelve-tray units of Reanimates in your army, the eight additional Reanimates figures in this expansion are a key part of growing your army base. … you also have the option to embed a Carrion Lancer into an infantry unit as an additional figure with the upgrade cards included in this expansion. Front Line Carrion Lancer allows you to use surges as mortal strikes if the defender has a blight token, while Support Carrion Lancer lets you inflict a blight token on an unengaged enemy within range.”

Magic Commander
ICv2.com previewed the Commander Anthology for Magic: The Gathering, due June 9th. “Commander is a multiplayer format for Magic where players use 100-card singleton decks, including one Legendary Creature which acts as ‘Commander’ for the deck, influencing the way the deck is built and the player’s strategy in the game.”

The Droids You’re Looking For
Three new Ally and Villain Packs for Imperial Assault are now available: BT-1 and 0-0-0, Jawa Scavenger, and Hera Syndulla and C1-10P. “There’s almost no limit to what the droids of the Star Wars universe can do. They can walk and talk and think. They can be loyal. They can be treacherous. Sometimes, they may even be grumpy and cantankerous.”

Lost Classic
I liked this look from arstechnica.com at the hard-to-find Dune. “The sheer amount of hidden information and the sudden bursts of chaos are what make the game great, but there’s no cushion for new players—and no quarter for anyone not prepared to stab their pals in the back.”
