Superhot: The Card Game
Based on the indie video game, Superhot: The Card Game will be released next month from Grey Fox Games. According to the ACD Distribution blog, “time only moves when you do. Players will need to use that to their advantage to dodge bullets and katana-wielding enemies. The object of the game is to complete three increasing levels of difficulty with unique objectives before time runs out or you’re hit by too many bullets. The game supports solo, cooperative, and competitive play.”

Teri Litorco at Geek & Sundry profiled three veterans who are part of the tabletop community, including Michael Sinclair: “I first started DM’ing on my last deployment playing my Homebrew D&D campaign and playing it through three different countries while on deployment.”

7 Wonders to Digital Platforms
David Neumann posted on BGG about 7 Wonders finally being made available on iOS and Android. According to Repos Production, “November 14th is the official release date of the application in the Apple Store. The Android version will be available December 20.”

Clue in the Hall
According Dice Tower News, Clue has been elected to the National Toy Hall of Fame. “Clue’s enjoyable, repeatable play ensured its success during the years since its introduction. It remains one of the 10 best-selling games.”

Those Dirty Apes
Over on the IDW Games website there’s an interview with Richard Launius (designer of Elder Sign, Defenders of the Last Stand, and others) about his new cooperative game, Planet of the Apes and its unique approach to game play. “Ultimately the idea dawned on me that the players could each be a different aspect of Taylor’s personality – all the same person, but as in the movie show the different sides of Taylor through the skills given to each personality.”

From gizmodo.com comes a report that classic board games are being played within the new 280-character limit on Twitter. “Connect Four appears to be among the first board games [played on Twitter]… Others have tried using Twitter as a chess-by-mail alternative.”

Resurgent D&D
Neima Jahromi of The New Yorker discussed the resurgence of D&D in today’s culture. “[T]he fear that a role-playing game might wound the psychologically fragile seems to have flipped on its head. Therapists use D. & D. to get troubled kids to talk about experiences that might otherwise embarrass them, and children with autism use the game to improve their social skills.”
