Alexa Now Plays Ticket to Ride
Days of Wonder announced the first Alexa skills for Ticket to Ride. According to the company’s website, “After saying, ‘Alexa, launch Ticket to Ride’ or ‘Alexa, launch Ticket to Ride Europe,’ players are taken on a guided journey from setup to the end of the game for either game. No matter the player’s experience level, the skills offer new ways to play and learn.”

Gloomhaven: Jaws of the Lion
A mass-market Gloomhaven game will debut in the third quarter of next year. The Cephalofair website states that “The title ‘Jaws of the Lion’ refers to the specific mercenary group – based out of the Sleeping Lion, naturally – players will be embodying.”

AEG and The Op Partner for New Smash Up Factions

Zoned Out
Grey Fox Games announced its city-building game, Zoned Out, is set for release in February 2020. ICv2.com reports that “players build a thriving city from the ground up. They need to develop the right combination of zoning to build skyscrapers in the downtown area, and earn the most points to win the game.”

New Versions of Classics
Over on his BGG blog, W. Eric Martin wrote about new versions of classic board games being released in 2020. Games being remade include GOSU, Night Clan, Hansa Teutonica, and Wiz-War. “In Wiz-War, the player wizards move through a maze, trying to steal treasure from one another or just kill opponents. The game has had multiple editions since its debut in 1983, mostly recently in a Fantasy Flight Games edition from 2012.”

Aeon’s End: Shattered Dreams
The new expansion to Aeon’s End, Shattered Dreams, will hit retail shelves in December. According to the ACD Distribution blog, “This expansion features one new nemesis and one new breach mage, as well as new gems, relics, spells, and minions.”

Dominant Species Designer Passes Away
According to Dice Tower News, wargame and board game designer Chad Jensen recently lost his battle to cancer. He was the designer of Dominant Species, Combat Commander: Europe, and other games.
