Space Clank
Renegade Game Studios announced a surprise standalone expansion to Clank!, Clank! In! Space! “ You and your fellow thieves have challenged each other to sneak aboard his ship, hack your way into its command module, and steal from [the evil Lord Eradikus].” It will be available in the Fall.

Force Friday II
Fantasy Flight Games teased a game release for September 1, aka Force Friday. No idea what it is, so I’m not sure it’ll top FFG’s Gen Con announcement of its miniatures game Star Wars: Legion.

Escape Room Board Game
According to Dice Tower News, Mattel announced its board game Escape Room in a Box: The Werewolf Experiment. “As soon as the box has been opened players will have been exposed to a virus that will turn them into werewolves. Players will then have one hours to complete 19 puzzles and find the codes to open the three locks and escape the virus.” It’s expected to hit retail shelves this Fall.

Women Game Designers
Designer and teacher Kathleen Mercury was recently interviewed by realwomenofgaming.com. “My big thing is that I want students to be creators not just consumers. I love that with game design, there is actually relatively little content they have to learn and the vast majority of the difficult work is struggling through the process.”

Lessons Learned
I’m a big fan of Jamey Stegmaier and Stonemaier Games. His lessons learned from Gen Con is a good read. “Another 10 or so meetings were with members of the board gaming media who wanted to talk about our upcoming games. I found this to be a really helpful way to hone my 2-minute summary of a game.”
