I’m not happy that the weather went from mild to scorching hot this weekend, but at least it gives me an excuse to stay indoors and play games.

Tokyo Facelift
King of Tokyo will get a new look on July 14th, as Iello introduces updated artwork to the popular press-your-luck game. There will be two new monsters, Space Penguin and Cyber Kitty. Some of the monsters will also have makeovers, but they’re “purely aesthetic changes: the rules of the game and Power cards remain unchanged! … These new illustrations will also be used the the digital version of the game, currently in the development stages, whose requirements were the main reason behind the makeover.” Additionally, Gigazaur will be replaced by Gigazaur in the Target special edition for one year.

Runebound Expanded
Two expansions for Runebound were announced by Fantasy Flight Games: Fall of the Dark Star and The Mountains Rise. According to the website, the expansions are due in the third quarter of this year. “Fall of the Dark Star is a new Scenario Pack that introduces an entirely new scenario along with thirty new adventure cards and a new ten-card story deck that correspond to the new scenario. The Mountains Rise, on the other hand, is an Adventure Pack that can be added to any scenario with new adventure cards, assets, and skills.”

Just like in the movie First Contact, the Borg Sphere can detach from the Borg Cube and join in the battle or it can be played separately as its own ship.”
