The Village Square: May 29, 2017

0

Two things before we dive into this Memorial Day edition of the Village Square: first, a heartfelt thank-you to those who’ve paid the ultimate price while serving our country. You are not forgotten. Second, a quick shout-out to my buddies Meeple Lady and Doscar for the fun game of Sagrada. I enjoyed a short-but-sweet visit to Gamex thanks to them and a whole lot of other non-Twitter friends.

The game, which will be out this fall, is about “warring clans struggling to take control of mystical crystals that grant enormous magical powers. The game includes six different clans, such as the Flower Clan and the Skull Clan, each with their own unique powers and abilities.”

Rory’s to Asmodee
The popular Rory’s Story Cubes has been sold to Asmodee. The folks at purplepawn.com report that “company co-founder Rory O’Connor expressed confidence in Asmodee’s commitment to the product as both a game and a resource for promoting creativity. Asmodee, he said, will better be able to expand the reach of Rory’s Story Cubes to a wider audience and additional global markets. Don’t expect any sudden changes to the product line, though, or a major expansion in licensed versions of Story Cubes.”
