I was sick last week so my gaming has been non-existent. Thankfully, the Dodgers found a way to make me feel better.

Mini-Expansion for A Feast for Odin
Z-Man Games announced a mini-expansion for A Feast for Odin. According to the website, “This mini-expansion introduces two new exploration boards into A Feast for Odin, providing more options than ever before. Send your Vikings to the archipelago of Lofoten, the Orkney Islands, or as far south Tierra del Fuego and discover all-new possibilities that await there.”

Ticket to Ride: France
Over on the Days of Wonder blog, the company talked about the upcoming expansion, Ticket to Ride: France, set to be released at SPIEL. It’s “the biggest expansion yet released. The French railroad system is a blank canvas just waiting for competitors to make their masterful strokes.”

WizKids to Partner with Games Workshop
WizKids announced a new partnership with Games Workshop. According to the press release, “The multi-year deal will span numerous categories and include the most iconic Warhammer 40,000 characters and more. WizKids will create two new board games, along with dice games based in the Warhammer 40,000 universe, with additional plans to republish classic board games Fury of Dracula and Relic.”

Destination X
As part of his SPIEL previews, W. Eric Martin looked at Destination X, a game that, “If this game had a Carmen Sandiego license, it would kill wallets across the U.S. game market. … does a far better job of channeling the edutainment experience of Carmen Sandiego and is a more interesting game to boot.”

Working Alone
Brandon Rollins wrote about working by himself in the board game industry. “There are a lot of advantages that come with working alone. You get complete creative control. On contentious decisions, you always get to make the final call. … Of course, working alone comes with its fair share of downfalls, many of which are absolutely devastating if you are not ready for them.”

Can’t Talk. Eating.
This is definitely my favorite BGG geeklist: Stephanie and her daughter bake board-game-inspired cakes and cookies. The results are absolutely amazing. “I originally began creating themed treats to encourage my kids to participate in our weekly board game night. Since then, this adventure has taken on a life of its own.”
