Loved seeing all of the posts from Gen Con! Attending the con is still on my Bucket List of Gaming, but until I make it there I’ll always have Wolfie’s Gen Con write-ups.

Super Star Destroyer Joins Armada
Fantasy Flight Games unveiled the Super Star Destroyer expansion for Star Wars: Armada. “The pre-painted, beautifully sculpted Super Star Destroyer miniature within this expansion is the largest miniature yet created by Fantasy Flight Games, measuring over 24 inches from tip to tip.” It’ll be available in the first quarter of next year.

Dark Tower Returns
Restoration Games’ next project is Return to Dark Tower, its remake of Milton Bradley’s classic Dark Tower. According to polygon.com, Rob Daviau (Risk Legacy, Pandemic Legacy) is working with Isaac Childres (Gloomhaven) to bring the game back to life.

KeyForge Announced
Fantasy Flight Games announced KeyForge: Call of the Archons, the newest card game by Magic: The Gathering designer Richard Garfield. According to its website, “Every single Archon Deck that you’ll use to play is truly unique and one-of-a kind, with its own Archon and its own mixture of cards in the deck … in just the first set of KeyForge, Call of the Archons, there are more than 104,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000 possible decks.” KeyForge can now be pre-ordered for its fourth quarter release.

Tiny Epic Mechs
The next title in Gamelyn Games’ Tiny Epic series is Tiny Epic Mechs. “Tiny Epic Mechs is an arena-style player-vs-player action-programming game. It features ITEMeeples with plastic molded power armors and a Mech suit that the ITEMeeples actually go inside of.” It’ll go to Kickstarter on September 13th.

Plaid Hat Games announced Gen7: A Crossroads Game, now available for pre-order. “[P]layers take the roles of a new command team onboard an interstellar ark. But just as they take control of the ship, a terrible mystery emerges that will threaten the entire mission. … Gen7 is a grand narrative game with a massive branching path, and the choices players make as they play will alter the direction of the story. Asmodee Digital tweeted a teaser video of the upcoming Gloomhaven digital game for Steam, where it’s expected to debut in the first quarter of 2019.

More Games Coming To Target
Retailer Target continues its push into the board game market, signing 95 exclusive releases while planning to stock over 130 new games. According to Dice Tower News, the games range from gateway (Ticket to Ride: New York, Choose Your Own Adventure: House of Danger) to casual and party games (Blank Slate, A Game of Thrones: Hand of the King).

Twilight Struggle in The Post
The Washington Post featured the co-creators of Twilight Struggle and how they made their famous game. “They bonded over their zeal for war-gaming, a subgenre of board games that reenact battles such as Waterloo or Gettysburg. The most hardcore war games are astoundingly complex, and at that time, the genre was getting only more arcane.”
