Cold hard cash is coming
I don’t usually  post about Kickstarter projects, but Cool Mini or Not’s A Song of Ice and Fire is one of the more highly anticpated titles to hit the hobby in a long time.  It’s a perfect storm of the publisher’s track record in this miniatures genre and the recent start of the insanely popular Game of Thrones’ penultimate season.  Now on Kickstarter, the project funded in less than hour. To the surprise of absolutely nobody.

Fast cash
Speaking of lots of money, Cool Mini or Not releases the new dice game Gang Rush: Breakout this week. As a crime boss’ thug you’ve already done the job and now you need to get the money to him. Fast. Race across town with 3D components and wipe out your competitors to become the boss’ right-hand man.

Reaching for the stars
Renegade Games Studios is delving into deeper gaming waters…or more accurately deeper space. This Fall, in partnership with Placentia Games and Post Scriptum, the publisher will release Kepler-3042, a game that’s a bit heavier than the company’s predominant family fare.  Explore our galaxy, colonize planets and manage resources as you seek to make the greatest impact in the stars!

Publisher interview
Eduardo Baraf of League of Gamemakers interviews Scott Morris of Passport Games. The interesting video looks at the hobby from a business insight, but as an experience that melds with a personal journey, too.

I have lots of kids. Board games help me connect with them, while still retaining my sanity...relatively speaking.
