Ravensburger aquires ThinkFun
The German toys and games maker has acquired similarly bent U.S. company ThinkFun, joining previous additions Wonder Forge and BRIO to their North American presence. The publisher will continue as an independent brand out of Alexandria, VA, continuing to publish its educational, family and kids games. Recent hits include Escape the Room and Roller Coaster Challenge.

New breed of hero
Iello USA, in collaboration with Devil Pig Games and Games Workshop, will release Heroes of Black Reach to the U.S. in May 2018. Using the same system as Heroes of Normandie, the title is set in the Warhammer 40K universe and will include campaigns and scenarios pitting the Ultramarines and Orks against each other.

Old Ones Down Under
Stay tuned for the upcoming 2018 title AuZtralia from Schilmil Games. Inspired by Martin Wallace’s A Study in Emerald – and designed by him as part of this two game deal with the New Zealand publisher, AuZtralia depicts the continent in an alternate universe ripe for exploration, exploitation and full of horrors!

Return of Spider-Man
Spider-Man Homecoming is the 14th expansion to Upper Deck’s Marvel Legendary family. Releasing October 18, the set adds new heroes, villains, masterminds and schemes.  It also brings back Epic Masterminds and Heroic Bystanders – and also ports the Coordinate characteristic over from Legendary Encounters.

Czech Games cometh to Essen
Czech Games announced its upcoming releases for Spiel ’17 in Essen, Germany. The titles include new dicey 4X design Puslar 2849, party game That’s A Question and expansions Codenames: Duet and Tash-Kalar: Etherweave.
