Anybody burned out on Scythe yet? Yeah, I didn’t think so.
The first expansion for Pandemic: The Cure has been announced by Z-Man Games. According to ICv2.com, “The expansion introduces new threats as it unleashes a fifth virus and Hot Zones become part of the game. There are also new medical experts introduced into the game.” Expect a retail price of $25-$30 and a release in October.
King of Tokyo: Cthulhu
Dice Tower News reports that new Monster Packs will be sold for King of Tokyo and King of New York in 2017. “They will be $10-$15 pillow packs for King of Tokyo and King of New York containing a new monster and Evolution Cards. October Asmodee Releases
ACD Distribution confirmed October dates for the following games: Storyline: Scary Tales, HMS Dolores, 4 Gods, Colt Express: Marshalls and Prisoners, Dixit: Revelations, Citadels Classic (with a lower MSRP), and the new version of Citadels, which “includes all the content from the previous editions by Fantasy Flight Games, along with new characters and districts developed by the original designer.”
Gods Up Close
The upcoming tile-placement game 4 Gods was previewed by Asmodee. “4 Gods can either be played with all players acting simultaneously or in timed turns of thirty seconds each. Either way, you’ll be racing to lay down as much terrain as quickly as possible, especially in the early stages of the game when the landscape is less developed. Starting from the four corners of the world, you and your opponents can place tiles wherever two edges meet and the terrain matches up. Forest must align with forest, field with field, mountain with mountain, and water with water. The process is intuitive, but far from easy.“
Another preview from Asmodee, this one for Final Touch, “a game of forged masterpieces and sabotage for two to four aspiring artists. Played over a series of turns, Final Touch is a card-based game where two to four players race to be the first to raise $25 from the sales of their forged masterpieces.” Final Touch will be available soon at retailers.
Car Wars Delayed
The sixth edition of the Steve Jackson’s classic Car Wars has been delayed until 2017. Among its features will be “twelve different factions: six wasteland factions and six arena factions. Each faction represents a gang, corporation, outlaw group, or other organization within the Car Wars world” and “plastic car miniatures at HO scale.”
Lions of Casterly Rock
Pre-orders of the second deluxe expansion for A Game of Thrones: The Card Game, Lions of Casterly Rock, are now being taken. This expansion allows players to expand their “forces and explore new deck types as the expansion greatly adds to House Lannister’s forces.” Fantasy Flight Games previews one of the deck archetypes in the game: the Lannister’s Clansmen allies.
