I’m a week away from Gateway 2016, but got an early dose of board-game-buying frenzy this weekend. I’m ready to get my game on!

Mystic Expansion
The first expansion for Mystic Vale, Vale of Magic, will be available on October 17, according to ACD Distribution. There will be “new advancement and vale cards to the base Mystic Vale game, giving players more card crafting options and exciting new possibilities for powerful combos.”

Munchkin Bicycling
John Kovalic’s annual charity bike ride is September 18th and he’s crafted a limited edition Munchkin Charity postcard, which lets its owner start the game at Level 3. A pledge of $20 or more gets the postcard.

Blank White Dice
Coming this October is WizKids’ Blank White Dice, a game that “allows players to draw various icons on the faces of their dice, but those icons are not permanent. Faces will be erased and new icons will be drawn, all in a race to accumulate the most points.”

Arkham Horror Cards
A preview of the upcoming Arkham Horror: The Card Game: “The Core Set contains more chaos tokens than you’ll need for any of your scenarios, and this is deliberate. Your bag of chaos tokens changes based upon your campaign and the difficulty level at which you play through your campaign. Moreover, you may even be able to change it, adding or removing tokens as indicated by campaign and card effects.”

Sorcery Expansion
In Barony: Sorcery, a new expansion for Barony, “players can cast powerful spells to aid them on their quest to take the throne. New spells can leave enemies decimated in your wake with roaring tornadoes, rip holes in space with reality-bending portals, petrify forests to create monumental cities, and so much more.” ACD Distribution says that it will hit retail shelves this November.

Micro Siege
ICv2 brings news of another micro game from Alderac: Siege, which “pits would-be kings against each other in a battle for dominance. Each player has a set of character cards, which they arrange in front of them to form a castle wall. The other players use their own characters to attack the wall, hoping to deduce the location of the enemy’s King, knocking that player out of the competition.”

Digital Side of Board Gaming
Keith Hurley, Fantasy Flight Games’ VP of Media and Interactive, offers his thoughts on board game apps. “ One great advantage is that a companion app gives us the opportunity to use all kinds of audio and visual content to support our narratives. In both Mansions of Madness and Road to Legend, for example, all the music, sound effects, narrations, and cutscenes work to develop an atmosphere for the players.”
