Friends, I’ll be live-tweeting from Orccon 2016 this weekend, so follow me and see what’s happening on the tabletops in Los Angeles.
Powered Up
Iello released the first look at the King of New York: Power Up! expansion due later this year.
To the Sea
Pandemic Legacy co-designer Rob Daviau revealed more of his upcoming SeaFall: A Legacy Game. This clip should excite a good chunk of the board gaming crowd: “But where Risk: Legacy and Pandemic: Legacy were written to resemble summer action-thrillers in their pacing, Daviau said SeaFall more closely resembles the size and scale of the epic Lord of the Rings trilogy.”
Quadropolis Rules and Trailer
Now online: Days of Wonder’s Quadropolis rules and video trailer.
Full Steam Ahead
As I wrote in my rave of Steampunk Rally, I’m now a fan of the genre and Dastardly Dirigibles has caught my eye. Due out this summer, DD will pit players against each other as they try to build their airship before their opponents.
Ogre
A new Ogre set is in the works and Steve Jackson Games published a “soft announcement” with a few of the details.
Orion’s Gate
One Page Rules has released its space battles game, Orion’s Gate. According to the press release, “can be used for large battles (like BFG) as well as dogfights (like X-WING).”
Mainframe
Android: Mainframe is the latest from Fantasy Flight Games. Preview of the upcoming game here.
Warmachining
New Warmachine miniatures and template sets are expected this April from Privateer Press.
From Spielwarenmesse
W. Eric Martin has been previewing the games from Spielwarenmesse. Check out his blog here.
Gaming in Glendale
I love GameHäus Café . It’s a terrific space with a 1,000+ games library, hip and relaxing atmosphere, and good food and drink. Last night the shop and its owners were featured on KCET’s SoCal Connected.
Canadian Cafe
The board game cafe Unplugged recently opened its doors in Riverview, New Brunswick. A $5 fee allows patrons to play any one of the cafe’s 300 games.
New Geek Look
Re-designed game pages on boardgamegeek.com are now in open beta.
