Cthulhu in the House
Debuting at Gen Con, Cthulhu in the House is based on Rumble in the Dungeon and Rumble in the House from Flatlined Games. The game is “a royal rumble to see which Old One has the staying power to outlast their opponents” and features art from John Kovalic.

Skye High
Winners of the Spieles des Jahres awards were announced on Monday, with Codenames taking home the main prize, according to Ars Technica. In a mild upset, Isle of Skye beat out Pandemic Legacy for the Kennerspiel des Jahres, “which tackles slightly more complex games (though they still need to be accessible to a wide audience).”

Castle Panic Expansion
The third Castle Panic expansion, Engines of War, is expected this November. It “introduces a light economic mechanic to the world of Castle Panic. The Engineer uses new Resource cards to build Catapults, Ballistas, Barricades, and more to better defend the Castle from the growing Monster threat.”

Bloodborne: The Card Game
This September, Bloodborne: The Card Game is due from Cool Mini Or Not. Based on the video game and designed by Eric Lang, “3 to 5 Hunters work together to get through the Dungeon and collect Yharnam’s blood before facing off against the horrible final boss … If the team can survive the final boss, the Hunter with the most trophies will be named the victor.”

Big Box Alien Frontiers
Coming soon from Game Salute is the limited edition Alien Frontiers Big Box. It will contain all 14 Alien Frontiers titles, along with component upgrades and an updated rulebook. ICv2.com reports “Altogether, it will have 1 double-sided gameboard, 1 scoring track, 1 Outer Belt board, 12 faction boards, 12 counters, 16 plastic miniatures, 41 dice, 123 tokens, and 174 cards.”

New Guild Ball

According to The Hollywood Reporter, A-List Hollywood celebrities are rolling their D20s and playing Dungeons and Dragons. “What is acting, after all, if not a highly tuned form of role-playing? And lots of writers and directors honed their craft as youngsters by pretending to rescue half-naked fairy princesses from the clutches of evil wizards.”
