A busy week for yours truly means a no-frills introduction. Here’s the latest and greatest from the cardboard community.

Dice Heist
Out on May 23rd is AEG’s Dice Heist, a dice-rolling game that challenges you to “Take on the role of an international thief, and attempt a series of daring heists to steal the most valuable artifacts, gems and paintings from four of the world’s most famous museums.”

The Fog of War
Stronghold’s first war game, The Fog of War, will hit the streets in September. According to Stronghold, it will be “a two player grand strategic game covering the European theater of World War II from 1940-1945. The game focuses on the planning and intelligence aspects of the war.”

World’s Fair 1893
The latest from Renegade Game Studios, World’s Fair 1893, will be out on May 25th.. “Acting as organizers of the fair, players work diligently to increase their influence throughout the fair and obtain the grand exhibits that will be put on display. The organizer who has earned the best reputation when the fair begins will emerge the victor!”

Hello, What Do We Have Here?
Everybody’s favorite scoundrel, Lando Calrissian, is joining the Imperial Assault world. Pre-orders are now being taken.

Splendid History
An overview of the historic times that the game Splendor is set in, the “fiercely competitive and lucrative Renaissance jewelry trade, in which a very shrewd jeweler could not only become rich, but gain the favor of kings and queens.”

In the Cards
Purple Pawn reports that USAopoly is releasing Harry Potter Hogwarts Battle: A Cooperative Deck-Building Game this August. Players will become Harry, Hermione, Ron, or Neville and try to “combat a series of villains infiltrating Hogwarts Castle” with their own deck of cards, “to which they’ll add spells, magical items, and other characters.”

Board Games for All
A look at Japanese designer Takashi Hamada’s games that are made for the visually impaired. His games “connect these people with people that can see well by providing an enjoyable game experience for both, using sounds and the sense of touch.”

Mailing Games
Singapore recently issued a set of stamps depicting traditional board games.
