The Village Square: July 23, 2018

Out of fiction into reality
This September, John Wick Presents will release Sweet Jenny. If either of those proper names sound familiar, then you know 7th Sea, the publisher’s wildly popular and sweeping RPG board game.  Sweet Jenny the Card Game is the real world iteration of the fictional world’s betting game enjoyed by the story’s pirates and other denizens!

Happy Happy
Z-Man Games announced the 10th Anniversary edition of Pandemic. To celebrate the milestone, the game will be packaged with new custom box, art and other components – include pre-painted minis for those who pre-order soon enough!

One Mean Machine!
CMON announced they have teamed up with Warner Brothers Consumer Products to produce an adventurous and frolicking race game, Wacky Races, based on the old Hanna Barbara cartoon series of the same name from the late 1960s. It’s sure to have all your favorite iconic characters; up to and including the infamous Dick Dastardly and his wheezing hound Muttley in the purple Mean Machine!

What have you done?!
The Legacy element taking the hobby by storm visits the evergreen title Werewolf in Ultimate Werewolf Legacy from Bezier Games this September. That’s right…decisions in one game will affect the roles and village setting of future games. And maybe even the players?! Nothing is the same anymore!

High noon showdown
Debuting at Gencon, North Star Games announced Most Wanted, a poker-themed board game of vying, risk and outlawry, to release in October.

Don’t let its size fool you
The newest expansion to Tiny Epic Defenders, Dark War, will release in September from Gamelyn Games.  It includes all kinds of new heroes, enemies and artifacts, but more significantly adds hero skills, caravans, advanced regions and enemy generals…along with a campaign mode.

Two New
Pandasaurus announced the GenCon release of two new quick, family and casual oriented titles. The first from Wolfgang Warsch of The Mind fame is Illusion, a unique design of optical twists and perception.  Then from the folks of Qwixx comes Qwinto, a roll and write game with a speed element.

GenCon scavenger hunt
To celebrate the release of Outbreak: Undead Survivor’s Guide, Renegade Game Studios and Hunters Entertainment will send GenCon 2018 goers on a con-wide scavenger hunt. You’ll need to purchase an IR Badge from their booth ($10 or free with a pre-order of the RPG).  Then as you traverse the con, the badge will warn you of infectious others in proximity, in which case you will have time to leave or need to hurry to the aid station to avoid elimination! Visit all nine aid stations to reach doctor status and return to base and be entered in a raffle!

Is there Australia?
USAopoly announced a new version of Risk and it’s the next obvious interation – Rick and Morty. That’s right! Conquer the Central Finite Curve as the Mythologs, Robot Dogs, Gazorpians, Post-Apocalyptic People, and of course, the U.S. Government. Each faction comes equipped with a unique leader giving you a special power!
