The Village Square: September 24, 2018

Just a little reminder of what we do around here.

Hills of Carcassonne
The ninth expansion for Carcassonne, Hills & Sheep, is now available for pre-order from Z-Man Games. According to the website, “Hill tiles are elevated with another tile facedown beneath them. When scoring, the meeple on the hill will break a tie and claim the points. Add thriving vineyards to grow wine around a monastery and increase its value … After placing a tile with a field, you may place a shepherd and immediately draw a token from the cloth bag. Drawing a sheep token will increase your flock. However, if you draw a wolf token the flock will scatter.”

More Feasting for Odin
Also from Z-Man Games is an expansion for Feast for Odin: The Norwegians. According to the website, “The Norwegians expansion continues the epic saga of the critically-acclaimed A Feast for Odin, providing a host of new lands to discover, more wares, more animals, new challenges, and a multitude of new actions to perform.”

The River
Days of Wonder will be releasing The River at Essen before it gets to North America in November. In this new worker placement and tile-laying game, “you embody pioneers embarking down a river in search of a new lands to settle. As you explore the untouched frontier, you will have to work twice as hard to manage your workers as they start to settle down along the way”

Betrayal Legacy
From the ACD Distribution blog comes news of street dates for two products. Axis & Allies & Zombies will hit shelves in time for Halloween on October 26th, while Betrayal Legacy: Board Game arrives on November 9th. From the blog: “Betrayal Legacy marries the concept of Betrayal at House on the Hill — exploring a haunted mansion — with the permanency and multi-game storytelling exhibited by Daviau’s Risk Legacy and other legacy games that followed.”

Men At Work
Dice Tower News reports that Pretzel Games is releasing Men At Work, a wood stacking game in which “2-4 players try to build the best construction from wooden supports, girders, and workers (with hard hats!), trying to impress Rita the Boss in order to earn Employee of the Month.” It will make its debut at Essen.

Tabletopia on Android
Also from Dice Tower News: Tabletopia has been launched for Android devices. “Now you will be able to play digital adaptations of popular games like Champions of Midgard, Sub Terra, Tuscany, and more on your android devices.”
