Free Goblins
Paizo is giving out a free Pathfinder module, We B4 Goblins, on Free RPG Day (June 18th). It’s an “adventure for four goblin characters just beginning their careers of mischief and mayhem.”

Funded Realm
Hero Realms, the fantasy version of Star Realms, has been funded on Kickstarter. The game will feature cooperative missions, character deck and campaign deck add-ons, and more.

Indie and Action Merger
Indie Boards and Cards have merged with Action Phase Games and will release new games together under the Indie Boards and Cards imprint.

More Dwarf
White Dwarf announced on its Facebook page that it will be returning to a monthly publication schedule. The “ultimate Warhammer Magazine” will contain “News, Golden Demon, Battle Reports, Painting Masterclasses, Designers’ Notes, exclusive games, new rules and more.”

A Grand Entrance
The newest Saddlebag Expansion for Doomtown Reloaded, A Grand Entrance, will hit the shelves on July 5th.

IDW Preferred Stores
IDW has started its Preferred Retailer Program that offers gaming stores a demo copy of every IDW title, marketing materials, and early copies of games.

Legendary Yu-Gi-Oh!
According to, Konami Digital Entertainment will release Legendary Decks II for Yu-Gi-Oh! On October 7th. The set “traces the journeys of Yugi, Kaiba, and Joey from Duelist Kingdom to Battle City and beyond, with three unique Decks.”

Massive Darkness Rules
After Massive Darkness was fully funded, Cool Mini Or Not has released the work-in-progress rulebook. According to the Kickstarter update, “Massive Darkness is designed to be easy to get into and have fun … You can pop in at any stage of the campaign and get all the fun of the levelling and monster slaying experience, even if your group can’t meet regularly.”

Sushi Party
The Inquisitive Meeple interviewed Phil Walker-Harding, designer of Sushi Go! and the upcoming Sushi Go Party! “You still earn points by picking winning sushi combos, but now you can customize each game by choosing à la carte from a menu of more than twenty delectable dishes.”

Shorter Words, Bigger Wins
Nigeria boasts more Top 200 Scrabble players than any other country. Their secret? Using shorter words. “Thanks to a design quirk, the board is oddly generous to short words. Most of the bonus squares are just four or five letters apart.”

Game-Based Learning
Primary school teacher Sarah Wright gave a quick overview of game-based learning: “Games offer opportunities for pupils to become really immersed in their learning. The competitive element provides an intrinsic sense of motivation and adds intensity to learning that can make it feel authentic for learners.”
